re-orient, babe

Storytime with Kate

Hey, you're so easy to love. Do you know that?

Ruby said that to me in a text the other day. I'm pretty sure she's said it to me before but this time, I felt that. I felt easy to love. I like who I'm being these days. I like how I'm being towards myself. I like the impact that I see I'm having.

You know when you're in one of those periods where you like, "goddamnit if i have to start one more motherfuckingconversation about a boundary i am going to scream?!" or "why do I even do all this when everybody around me is just doing fuckall to make this *gestures broadly* any better?"

I've asked my therapist many times over the years why the hell I keep trying so hard.

And then there it is - I try hard.

I like that about myself.

I like that I try hard... and then get really good at shit.

Being good at shit, makes it feel a little easier over time.

The trying is worth it.

And I'm in a period where I'm getting to feel that. Remember a few weeks ago I told you to take inventory of the progress you've made? It's because feeling your goodness, feeling grateful for the ways that you are, feeling grateful for really specific pieces of the life that you've created, the relationships that you've built... you deserve that. Good job.

My coach told me recently, "I'm so glad you're starting to see what the rest of us are shocked to find out you're only just now seeing about yourself."

I've been feeling that nutrient dense soup thing you know? In and out of that for truly, like 5 years. This spring/summer, the wings have started popping 🦋

And this is an important step in getting unstuck.

Is re-orienting from "where you've been" to "where you are now."

Like you know in a map... you have to know where you currently are in order to figure out how to get where you're going next?

This is, once again, your invitation to re-orient to yourself... you are the person that a younger version of you needed. You're here now. In this new way. Welcome. Feel that. Acknowledge it. Accept it. It's true.

And if you need more of this, if you need my help getting you there, call me. Let's talk. One on one Self Study Coaching is what Ruby and I do on ourselves, and we guide you through your own process. So that your voice starts sounding like your own, instead of a collection of everyone who's ever made you feel like you're hard to love.

get on my calendar.
