Storytime with Ruby

Hey!

When's the last time you felt like yourself?

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what it means to fully trust and lean into who I am. Like quirks, perfectionism, chaos, and all!

How does that change my experience of this one and only life I'm sure I get to live?

What happens when we're all living more authentically?

I just want to add that I don't prefer using the word authentically. It's been over-used and commodified in ways that water down its essence. But the definition holds true: of undisputed origin; genuine.

What happens when you live your life of undisputed origin? Genuinely? Like you?

It sounds simple, but for me there's been so much "should-ing" around what I'm like and how I do things. My authenticity has often been clouded by my natural desire to be liked and fit in. Sometimes it feels like being me is counter productive if I want to be successful in the world as is.

But believing that feels icky. It's exhausting to try to cover up, change, or force something about myself to be a different way.

You know what I'm talking about.

It’s been at the center of my work lately, both in the new career coaching offering I'm piloting and in the workshop I led this week on breaking down the pesky limiting beliefs that hold us back.

In the career coaching offering, I’ve been working with an amazing client who’s diving deep into her own strengths and uncovering her path to success—on her own terms. Using Human Design along with the My Self Study Practice framework, we’ve been mapping out what her unique journey looks like. It’s not about fitting into someone else’s mold; it’s about embracing her natural energy, quirks, and ways of working. By leaning into who she is, we're able to get to where she wants to go by setting up her life in a way that actually aligns with who she is at her core.

This work of realigning to what is true is something I carried right into my recent Advanced Brainwashing: Breaking the Spell of Limiting Beliefs workshop. For five days, we took on the old, stale beliefs that tell us we’re not enough, that we have to fit some perfect image, or that being ourselves isn’t “good enough.”

One of the coolest parts of the workshop was seeing people replace those limiting beliefs with truths about who they actually are. Watching everyone start to feel the freedom that comes with owning their own story—it was magic.

So here's the secret sauce you've known all along, but sometimes you forget:

Your Power Lies in Being YOU

So here’s my question for you: What if you trusted yourself to be the expert on your life? What if your unique quirks, strengths, and style weren’t just acceptable but were actually the key to your success?

We’re often taught to follow someone else’s path, but here’s what I’ve seen over and over again: when you really lean into who you are, everything changes. There’s a freedom and strength that only comes from being you—no holding back, no trying to fit in, just trusting that who you are is enough.

I’d love to hear how you're exploring this idea. Maybe try out a new way of working or a fresh way of approaching things that feels like you. Like TRULY like you!

And if you want some support on this journey, I’m here! Let's talk about it! Whether it’s through coaching, workshops, or just these newsletters, I’m all in for helping you discover your most powerful, authentic (of undisputed origin) self.

Thanks for being here! I’m cheering you on to fully trust in yourself today and every day.
